Suffolk Travel Plan Team
The Suffolk Travel Plan Team works with schools, businesses and developers across the county to offer low-cost travel options, safer routes, and infrastructure (such as buses and cycle paths).
We develop bespoke plans for business and schools, providing the support they need to write their travel plan and put it into action. This has helped organisations to reduce their transport overheads, improve the health or staff, reduce congested car parks and make their site more accessible.
We are currently working on two key transport schemes in Ipswich and Lowestoft that will enhance the way people travel around the towns. The Ipswich Major Transport scheme starts this summer and will seek to improve facilities for walking, cycling and public transport. Work has already started with businesses and schools to raise awareness of the project and develop a package of tools to help with the implementation of travel plans.
The Lowestoft Local Links project has already started and work is due to begin with businesses and schools. Similarly to the Ipswich Major Transport Scheme, the Lowestoft Links project seeks to improve facilities for walking, cycling and public transport use in the town. It will also deliver a new cycle and pedestrian bridge and join up cycle routes from the north to the south of Lowestoft. Further information about both projects is available here
