This website has been created to make available the results of the Suffolk Landscape Character Assessment Project. It is designed to support work to maintain and restore the landscape of Suffolk, particularly through the planning system and to promote and foster wider understanding of the county's distinctive and treasured landscapes. The Project has been carried out by the County Council and all District Councils, and involved the systematic assessment of the landscape of the county and the identification and description of thirty distinct types of landscape within it.
