Winning an award can be great for publicity, staff motivation and market edge. There are many business awards schemes around that can help you to stand out from the pack. Here we select some of the best (all free to enter unless stated).

Guardian Sustainable Business Awards
A range of categories for work in 2015. All longlisted entries profiled in the paper. Entry costs £249 +VAT. Deadline for entries - 14th July 2017

EDIE Sustainability Leaders Awards
The awards are open to all businesses and organisations across the public and private sectors and of all sizes from the largest multi-nationals to the smallest micro-organisations.

Bury Free Press Business Awards
West Suffolk business awards. Categories include a Green/ Environmental Award.
Entries typically July-August. Currently closed.

EADT Business Awards
High-profile, easy-to-enter award for local businesses, with a sub-category for sustainability. Currently closed.

Environment and Energy Awards 
A range of categories, mainly for green sector businesses. Entry costs £75+VAT. Entries typically Autumn. Currently closed.

Suffolk Coastal Business & Community Awards 
Open to any Business or Community in Suffolk Coastal. Categories include Great & Green Award. Entries typically Oct-Dec. Currently closed.

Suffolk: Creating the Greenest County Awards
Our very own awards for the best in local green achievements. Entries typically Jan-Feb. Awards not running 2017 due to 10-year celebration; back in 2018.

2017 Excellence in Forestry Awards

Ashden Awards 
High-profile national and international awards. Topics include energy reduction, renewables and travel.
