Loans and Finance
Carbon Trust & Siemens Efficiency Loans - help businesses cut their energy costs. To be eligible for a loan you must have been trading for over 3 years.
On-Farm AD Loan Fund
- Loans of up to £400,000 or 50% for farms with access to manures or slurries looking to build Anaerobic Digestion power plants. They are currently reviewing the operation of the fund but should be open to new applications again soon.
Suffolk Carbon Reduction Loan - 0% Loan of up to £5,000 for measures that deliver clear carbon reductions. Loans approved on a 1st come 1st served basis.
West Suffolk Solar for Business - Generate electricity on your roof and cut your energy bills at no cost or hassle to you. 100% of the electricity generated is available to you at a discounted tariff cheaper than your current supplier.
BEE Anglia - Up to £20,000, (or even £50,000 in some circumstances) for SMEs across Suffolk and Norfolk to install energy efficiency measures. Call 01473 350 370 to discuss requirements.
Energy Entrepreneur Fund - A total of £10 million available for allocation to support UK businesses operating in the green energy sector to propose low carbon ideas for the future.
West Suffolk Greener Business Grant - Up to £1,000 (50%) for West Suffolk businesses for work such as insulation, replacing heating controls and lighting or installing more energy efficient alternatives to existing equipment.
Carbon Trust Green Business Fund- Capital contribution of 15% of the project cost (up to a max of £5,000) for small and medium businesses to invest in approved energy saving equipment
Carbon Trust Enhanced Capital Allowance (ECA) Scheme 100% tax relief for the first year on certain energy saving technologies.
Travel Plan Grant - Up to £1000 match funded grant that encourages local businesses to invest in sustainable travel projects.
Feed in Tariff - Government payments for renewable energy generation (e.g. Solar, Wind, Anaerobic Digestion). Due to end for new applications in march 2019.
Shell Springboard - Annual competition, 6 grants of £40,000 for innovative and commercial low carbon business ideas from SMEs. 2019 applications open in Autumn 2018.
The Renewable Heat Incentive - Payments for renewable heating systems including biomass, heat pumps, solar thermal and biomethane.
Postcode Lottery Green Challenge - Global competition offering €500,000 to develop inventions that combat CO2 emissions.
RHI Training - Currently closed - Financial support for existing plumbing & heating engineers and apprentices to train in renewable heating technologies.
Barclay Bank Green Trade Loan - Funding to meet your environmental goals.
NatWest Sustainable Energy Financing - Supporting the transition to a green economy
Lloyds Bank have also announced a £2Bn Green Business Lending drive - More details coming soon.
General Business Funding (not specifically environmental)
Growing Business Fund - grants of up to 20%, between £5,000 and £100,000 for business growth associated with job creation.
European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development - grants of 40%, £35-140,000, for rural micro and small businesses to diversify or grow. 1st submission date 8th January 2016 - fund closes September 2016.
Finance schemes to support entrepreneurs - April 2013 list of government schemes to support enterprise and SMEs.
Transforming Suffolk Loan Fund - low interest loans of £5,000-£50,000 for social enterprises or charities.
