Port of Felixstowe

Raw Apple Industries Ltd in Essex operate within 3 divisions; waste oil management, fresh oil sales and Biodiesel production. When Gavin Reeve, the Environmental and Safety Manager from the Port of Felixstowe got in touch with Eastex regarding 400 glass sample bottles that they had surplus to requirement, the Eastex Suffolk Co-ordinator, Anna Martin, got straight in touch with Raw Apple Industries Ltd.

Obtaining these sample bottles from the Port of Felixstowe has saved this Biodiesel Company over £1,500 in material costs alone, which is what it would have cost to buy the items new. Instead of being disposed of, the bottles are now being utilised for sampling the biodiesel production at Raw Apple. This is a fantastic example of reusing equipment and proving that not all resources need to be bought new.
