The awards celebrates the environmental excellence of different organisations across Suffolk and those individuals who are already doing some amazing things.

The awards are an annual event that highlight the excellent environmental achievements that is ongoing within our communities, businesses and school across Suffolk, from protecting our natural landscape to developing innovative ways to reduce carbon emissions to reducing waste. These awards provide the opportunity to reward green excellence in all its forms.

The awards are split into the following themes and then split into a variety of categories.

Award winners will receive £200 and be named as ' Environmental Champions' and will be featured on this website and in other promotional material as case studies. They will also get use of the distinctive Creating the Greenest County kitemark and an opportunity to attend all Creating the Greenest County events.  The award winners will be announced at a high profile gala award ceremony on the 18th March.

This is the third year the awards have been running. To read about previous award winners, please visit either the 2008 and 2009 award winners page or watch the Past Winners video here.  Past award winners include East Green Energy, BT Adastral Park, Sproughton, Elmswell Parish Council and Yoxford Primary School.

This year's sponsors include CSD (title sponsor), Adnams, West Suffolk Green Business Forum and Bury St Edmunds Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Environment Agency. The sponsors have been involved in the development of the awards and will make an important contribution to the judging process.
