BBC Radio Suffolk

Communication Award Winner

Fed up by all the rubbish on the side of the roads and in many of our natural beauty spots, Mark Murphy, BBC Radio Suffolk Presenter urged residents and visitors to Suffolk to clean up after themselves and "Don't be a tosser".

"When you drove around Suffolk last year you couldn't fail to notice the rubbish-strewn grass verges" said Mark. "The A14 in particular was disgusting and it seemed people were just tossing their bottles and bags out of their car or lorry window."

Since last year motorists and truckers have been made well aware that this is not acceptable and the local authority's of Suffolk have helped in the big clean up.

Communities across the county have rallied around and organised litter picks in their village, school or workplace. The multi award winning campaign has proved so successful that Mark has just launched "Don't be a tosser 2" which it's hoped will build on last years success.
