Dennington CEVC Primary School
Education Award Winner
Sustainability in the school is considered to be a fundamental part of their ethos. This is reflected in pupils have a major role in developing and leading a sustainable curriculum. There is a whole school commitment to green education, the headteacher dedicates part of the budget for green education and we arrange for outside expertise and agencies to help promote green education.
This is done in a variety of ways including themed curriculum days and weeks planned jointly by teachers and pupils, a green library and a green newsletter. There is also an eco council, where pupils and staff jointly engage and are involved in the decision making process, which is then fed into the wider school and governor meetings.
