Little Ouse Headwaters Project

Landscape and Biodiversity Award Winner

This community conservation project was set up six years ago to restore and progressively reunite the fragmented fen landscape and habitats of the upper Little Ouse valley. Community engagement is at the core of the project, which is run entirely by volunteers. Local people carry out much of the practical conservation work and enjoy access to the eight sites. The community also benefits from the Project's promotion of local green tourism and inward investment of much of the £500,000 raised to fund its work.
