Mill Green Brewery was set up to brew cask conditioned real ales in a purpose built ‘low embodied energy’ building. They have twenty five square metres of solar panels and a wood boiler using local coppice wood for heating brewing liquor and wort. The beers will eventually be produced using locally grown organic barley and hops. Their objective is to have a successful business produce quality beers from local ingredients with minimal environmental impact. They hope their beers will appeal to cask ale enthusiasts and those wanting to encourage a greener low carbon economy.
