School Food Award Highly Recommended
The school has formed a close relationship with Home Farm Nacton. The farm, totally organic, has supplied all the vegetables for the school meals since 2006 they are based only 500 metres away. All staff and 84% of the children regularly enjoy a school meal. With compost from the farm the children grow a variety of vegetables, which they then pick when they are ready. The cook then serves them separately so the children can experience what they have grown. They also take part in the Kitchen Garden Project. This experience allows the children to enjoy health lunches, knowing where the vegetables come from.
