School Food Award Winner
Yoxford Primary School have been working with an organisation called Eastfeast to 'bring the school room into the garden'. Staff and pupils have been learning how to grow produce that can be eaten in school meals and used for feasting and celebrating. Growing took place in raised beds and in a large polytunnel on our school site. Harvest helpers ensured that produce was collected and prepared by members of the community throughout the summer months. Food for the feast was not only grown but prepared by the children. On the menu-butternut squash soup, vegetable lasagne, apple crumble and freshly squeezed apple juice.
