Are you a business or household in Suffolk? What financial incentives would motivate you to make energy efficiency improvements to your home or commercial building?

The Government’s Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy has asked Suffolk County Council, working in partnership with Babergh & Mid Suffolk District Councils, West Suffolk Council and Anglia Ruskin University (ARU), to research the opportunities for enhancing energy efficiency standards in domestic and commercial buildings using local financial incentives to stimulate the uptake of measures.

The Suffolk Energy Efficiency Financial Incentives Research Project aims to gain insight from households and businesses in Suffolk and will investigate potential motivators such as Council Tax and business rate reduction, making secure, low-interest loans available, awarding grants and providing advice and support.

A questionnaire for residents and businesses will investigate what the challenges and motivations are, and these will then be tested in more detail with focus groups.
