Sign up for 10:10 to cut emissions for Suffolk

Monday 18 January 2010

10:10 is a national campaign which aims to unite the United Kingdom behind one simple idea: that by working together a 10 percent cut in the country's carbon emissions in 2010 is achievable.  So far over 50,000 people, 2,000 business and 1,200 schools have signed up, including Suffolk County Council and Ipswich Borough Council.

Iain Dunnett, Creating the Greenest County Project Manager says "Becoming more energy efficient not only makes environmental sense but also helps you save money. We would like everyone in Suffolk, whether you are a householder, business or community to sign up and help Suffolk to become the greenest county'

 "To help everyone take their first steps I'd like to highlight information on the www.greensuffolk.org website and in particular:

  • the Green Suffolk Fund which provides funding for communities to help them reduce their carbon emissions;
  • domestic energy monitors to loan from libraries which allows people to identify their energy usage; and
  • a free advice service for small businesses to provide practical measures to reduce costs, carbon emissions and environmental impact."
