We started green and have stayed green. This approach has a huge influence on the way the business is run, from sourcing our products to choosing our energy company. We make customers aware of the environmental footprint of building and decorating materials, such as their high embodied energy or their chemical contents and demonstrate that there is a wide selection of better materials available.
We are currently developing our own range of paints, which are made locally and principally from natural ingredients. They are sold under the banner of Suffolk Green Paints. These are in addition to our existing range of eco-paints, paint removers, oils, mineral pigments, natural insulations, lime, and a wide range of sustainable building materials.
We reuse and recycle most of our waste and encourage customers to return containers.
Compared to a typical UK office which uses 275KWh per year, the energy consumption in our shop is just 44 KWh.
