How do I reduce my businesses energy consumption?

There are many low cost simple measures that can be taken to start reducing your businesses energy consumption.

  • Adopt a Switch Off Policy - Ensure that staff are turning off lights and other appliances when they are not needed and at the end of the day.

  • Ask staff to only fill the kettle with as much water they need instead of boiling a full kettle everytime they make a cup of tea or coffee.

  • Are you using low energy light bulbs? Low energy light bulbs cost more to purchase than conventional bulbs, but they can last up to 12 times longer and save you around £7 per bulb per year.

  • When purchasing appliances always look at their energy ratings and only buy efficient appliances.
