Awards Categories

We have awards to cover all aspects of life in Suffolk, from large businesses to schools and local communities. Look through the list below and find out more about each of them.

Small Business Award

This award is open to any Suffolk based business with fewer than 50 employees. The award will celebrate a business whose actions have had a significant and clear positive environmental impact in their own operations and/ or beyond. If you are helping Suffolk’s economy to become more sustainable, and supporting the journey to net-zero emissions let us know!

School Award

This award recognises any educational establishment that is making efforts to increase pupil and staff awareness and taking action to improve environmental performance. This year we will be having two separate categories: one for key stages 1-2 and another category for key stages 3-5, so if your local school is taking action, ensure they apply now!

Community Award

Celebrating a community or a group of local volunteers who are working together to improve their surrounding environment or tackle the causes of climate change by raising environmental awareness and making a difference to others. You can nominate yourselves or nominate a group which has inspired you. Just make sure we hear about them!

Business Award

This award is open to any Suffolk based business with 50 employees or more. The award will celebrate a business whose actions have had a significant and clear positive environmental impact on their own operations and beyond. If you are helping Suffolk’s economy to become more sustainable, and supporting the journey to net-zero emissions let us know!

Hero Award

It is often the drive and commitment of just one person that brings people together, with their ideas bringing a project to life. This award will recognise an outstanding individual and the contribution they have made in helping Suffolk become the most sustainable county. Nominate someone who has inspired you, or nominate yourself, we don’t mind!

Enhancing Biodiversity and Landscape Award

This award is open to an individual or group, for a project or on-going work, large or small scale, which is enhancing Suffolk’s unique landscape or providing new opportunities for wildlife and biodiversity to thrive. If you are making a difference, let us know!

Waste Reduction and Recycling Award

This award is open to any school, business, community, third sector organisation or individual, who has taken an innovative approach towards waste reduction, re-use, recycling or upcycling. If you are preventing waste from going to landfill then tell us about your efforts.

Tourism Award

The Tourism Award is open to visitor attractions, accommodation, museums and other tourism organisations of any size that can demonstrate a proven commitment to sustainability, by reducing their impact on climate change and enhancing their local environment. Judges will look for signs of a real impact, and an organisation that is actively engaging with its visitors to share the environmental ethos.
