In the garden

Put your home recycling to use
Yogurt pots, empty loo rolls, lollipop sticks and milk cartons in your recycling?
You can fish these out and put them to use in the garden.
Yoghurt pots and loo rolls can be used for seedlings.
Milk cartons also be used for this or as make-shift watering cans.
Lollipop sticks are useful plant labellers.
The best bit is once you’re finish with them or they start to perish, simply clean them, and pop them back in the recycling bin.
Create a wildflower patch
Why not dedicate a patch of your garden to our bees and pollinators?
You can sew it with some wildflower seed and watch it transform year on year.
Leaving your grass to grow throughout the spring and summer seasons does wonders for wildlife too, giving them shelter and lowering the ground temperature.

Plant your own vegetables and fruits
They taste amazing and are packed with more flavour and nutrients.
But it’s also a great way to save money and reduce emissions that are produced from making and distributing food.
The plants also help insects as they often have flowers on them.
Get a water butt
A water butt is an effortless way to harvest rainwater.
The water can then be used to water your plants and garden.
You can find advice on how to install one on the Suffolk Wildlife Trust website.
