Water
Suffolk’s water resources are under huge pressure.
According to the Environment Agency, to support a growing population, the economy, food production and to protect the environment, by 2050 the UK is going to need a lot more water.
We will need almost 5 billion litres extra a day, which is over 2 million wheelie bins full of water, on top what we already use.
We all need to take responsibility for this, being considerate of the water we use and wasting less. This will also save you money on your water bill.
The Energy Saving Trust suggests ways that you can help:
1. Spend less time in the shower
2. Turn off the tap when brushing your teeth
3. Reuse water
4. Get a water butt to collect rainwater
5. Fill the kettle less
6. Use full loads for your washing machine and dishwasher
7. Maintain your appliances
8. Use water saving devices
9. Use the shower instead of the bath
