Suffolk’s local authorities have a shared and collective ambition to work towards the aspiration of a carbon neutral Suffolk by 2030 and a
key Theme of our Climate Emergency Plan is the delivery of sustainable homes, both new housing and through the retrofit of
existing homes.

Achieving such an aspiration is no small task, nor is it one that any single person or organisation can achieve alone. It requires everyone
to come together, to work collectively, to share in their experiences and to build on their successes along the way.

As local planning authorities, we are dedicated to supporting individuals, businesses and communities on this pathway to Net
Zero.

This is why we are publishing this Net Zero Carbon Toolkit (PDF, 7,154kb): a practical and easy to navigate guide on how to plan your Net Zero housing project that should be considered in conjunction with your local authority’s planning policies and building regulations.

Whether you are a small or medium size house builder, an architect, a self builder or a consultant advising clients, this Toolkit will help you, explaining how Net Zero can be delivered through construction.
