The 2022 United Nations Climate Change Conference, more commonly referred to as COP27 (Conference of the Parties of the UNFCCC), will be the 27th United Nations Climate Change conference, to be held from 6 to 18 November 2022 in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.

To mark the occasion, the team behind Creating the Greenest County is putting on three informative, free and timely webinars for Suffolk residents.

There are also opportunities to volunteer across the county, to help the natural environment and maintain areas of outstanding natural beauty.

VOLUNTEERING OPPORTUNITIES

Anyone wishing to volunteer must first register as a Suffolk AONB volunteer.

Tuesday 8 November 2022 – Birch & Pine Clearance
Activity: Clearing trees from this classic Sandlings heath and stacking and/or burning.

Wednesday 9 November – Stour Valley Path Clearance
Activity: Cut back overgrown scrub to widen the Stour Valley Path to help access

Tuesday 15 November 2022 – Improve a Geological Site
Activity: Talus removal (by hand digging) and clearing paths (including access to the Pit) and vegetation.
